Architecting with Google Compute Engine

This three-day course introduces participants to the full range of platform and infrastructure services provided by Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on Compute Engine.

Through a series of presentations, demonstrations and hands-on exercises, participants explore and deploy infrastructure components including networks, systems, and applications. The course also covers the exploration of practical cases such as the implementation of secure network interconnection, the use of encryption keys, security and access management, quotas and billing, and resource monitoring.

Module 1: Introduction to Google Cloud

  • Browse the different ways to interact with Google Cloud.
  • Learn how to use the Cloud Console and Cloud Shell.
  • Create cloud storage spaces.
  • Use Google Cloud Marketplace to deploy solutions.

 

Module 2: Virtual networks

  • Gain an overview of VPC concepts in Google Cloud.
  • Differentiate between the different types of VPC networks.
  • Implement VPC networks and firewall rules.
  • Implement Private Google Access and Cloud NAT.

 

Module 3: Virtual machines

  • Revise the CPU and memory options for virtual machines.
  • Describe the disk options for virtual machines.

Module 8: Interconnection of networks

  • Discover the Google Cloud interconnection and peering services available to connect your infrastructure to Google Cloud.
