We invite you to learn about his story, his day-to-day life, the challenges he faces, and his valuable advice about how important is to combine your professional life with your personal one.

Hello, I’m Bruno Paulino, the Data Area Manager at Devoteam G Cloud Portugal.

I have the perfect balance of my professional responsibilities and my daily farm activities and it couldn’t be better.

I’ve been at Devoteam for nearly two years.

With over ten years of experience in Data, my journey in this field is longer and unusual.

I’m Brazilian and I have a degree in Librarianship. Seventeen years ago, I moved to Portugal to do a Master’s degree in Information Management on an EU scholarship. I then specialized in Business Intelligence and started my career in this field. Beginning with traditional BI using on-premises technology, I’ve spent the last seven years working with Google Cloud.

With the arrival of my first child, I moved to the countryside, where I now live on a small farm surrounded by several animals.

Team and Collaboration

I lead a dynamic team that delivers cutting-edge data solutions, ranging from data warehouses and lakes to stream analytics platforms. We harness the potential of services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Composer, Dataflow, Dataproc, dbt, PubSub, and much more.

My team is distributed across the country (Portugal), and we typically work remotely. Despite the physical distance, our team is very close and has a lot of mutual support. Additionally, our projects are delivered in collaboration with other teams, such as Cloud Infra & DevOps and Service Delivery & Project Management.

My Daily Activities

A typical working day in my life it’s quite dynamic and involves a mix of different tasks.

I work on data architectures and frameworks, oversee all aspects of my team, provide technical support, handle management activities, participate in pre-sales activities, collaborate with the data tribe and other geographies, create training materials, and consistently stay updated with the world of data.

Although I’m part of a technical team, my most significant challenge isn’t technical – it’s communication, something I always try to improve.

Clear communication is crucial in understanding customers’ real needs and delivering solutions in line with their expectations. The same holds for my team, concerning expectations and career development.

Bruno Paulino story is a perfect example of how we can and should privilege our health by being able to combine our professional life with our personal life.

Bruno’ story serves as an illustration of the limitless potential of Google cloud and the infinite opportunities available at Devoteam G Cloud for those who are eager to learn and grow. Are you interested in Cloud Engineering and Google Cloud? Now is the time to take the next step.
